Why Do We Delay Our Happiness!

How many times do we choose to wait for the RIGHT time? Really, when is the perfect time? You could be dead tomorrow!

Sorry, that’s direct. My sense of humour but it is a reality, I’ve been there, and although my experience was enlightening, it made me realise how important my soul’s journey is and I don’t want to leave this world without living and experiencing the depth of what this precious planet and human life has to offer. Let alone the purpose I so strongly feel.

It had been a long time since I’ve enjoyed the delight of a puppy in my home. In fact, how cute are they! Just take one look, and you can’t help but open your heart and coo a little.

Little Maggie arrived three weeks ago by plane after having taken two flights. This little bundle of fluff weighing only 1.4kg greeted me with so much enthusiasm I could have cried with joy.

It was love at first sight

I’ve missed having my own loving and dear companion. On my walks in nature I’d find myself watching others with their pets, and even though I’d delight in their interaction, I felt an emptiness inside.

You see, I’d made a life-changing decision and sold my home and gave away almost everything. Neither wealthy or owning my home, it felt right and so much had changed since my near-death experience three years prior. I’d felt a strong inner nudge to indulge in life unrestricted by conditioning and cultural expectations. Although, initially a little scary at releasing the security I’d built, four years on I have no regrets!

Walking a path led by a feeling, dream, vision and inner guidance, I’m now living in my eighth home, and that’s just in these four years. I had strong feelings that I couldn’t possibly have a pet knowing I was transient and didn’t know how long I would settle in a place.

My happiness put aside, and the thought was, wait Maria for the right time. But when was that going to be?

Then two months ago I said to myself, hey Maria why not? Surely you can take a little bundle of joy with you wherever you go? That thought started the process and unexpectedly, or was it, little Maggie came into my life.

MariaandMaggieMaggie has enriched my life, and I have laughed more in these past three weeks than for a long time, you know that real belly laugh. She loves her cuddles and follows me everywhere, and is such a good little girl, especially when I have clients.

Maggie’s now testing me and her boundaries, and I welcome it for boundaries are something I have personally struggled with over the years. She’s a great little teacher, and I’m grateful that her soul chose me and I know when the time comes to move once again, we will be okay.

So, my friends, don’t put off your happiness because you are waiting for the right time. You have a purpose, meaning and worth, it’s time to live it – after all isn’t that what being alive is for!
