It was fate, I honestly believe, when Reiki first crossed my path. Being a sole parent and working full-time with no immediate family to rely on, certainly wasn’t easy. So, I initially learned Reiki because I wanted to offer healing to my children and keep myself well. I never imagined that it would lead me to take a leap of faith where I left a lucrative corporate career in IT to begin my Reiki practice.
23 years ago, I stepped into the light and love of Reiki.
It really was a big step.
But learning Reiki felt right, and every day, I feel blessed for the gift it gives to myself, my family, and my wonderful clients and students.
To receive healing is a wonderful opportunity to rebalance and feel more peaceful, calm, and present – a gift to renew the spirit.
While starting my own business as a sole parent with two young children was a big task at first, the more I worked and trusted in the healing of Reiki, the more I could accomplish.
Past trauma, fear, doubt, and self-sabotage are weights that hold us back and stifle our growth.
As with everything in life, the more we learn, the more we understand and receive. It’s the same with healing through Reiki. Over the last two decades, I have become aware of many things, but the most prevalent is the simple truth of healing.
Experiencing healing through Reiki is a process of care and comfort that gently lifts and removes the weights of life, allowing you to become your true, authentic self.
To become, in both connotations of the word, Light.
So, what is Reiki?
An ancient natural form of healing rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the late 1800s, Reiki accelerates our body’s ability to heal physical ailments and emotional states, opening the mind and the spirit to the causes of various conditions.
Reiki is gently transferred through the Practitioner’s hands in a non-intrusive way, which usually induces a state of deep relaxation. The Receiver’s intention is held with grace, as the Reiki healing energy releases, energises, and supports their wellbeing.
Further to healing, Reiki energy can help the Receiver remove blocks, access deeper insight and clarity, and gain a closer alignment to, and awareness of, Self.
The experience can be peaceful, calming, uplifting, comforting, relaxing, or rejuvenating – whatever you need most is what you receive. Bringing this light filled energy to your body, mind, and spirit is a truly beautiful and magical experience.
Reiki may help with stress-associated issues such as:
- Aches and pains
- Inability to think clearly
- Anxiety
- Tiredness
- Insomnia
- Grief and loss
- Fertility challenges
- Coping with VCE and other studies
- Fear
Reiki may also assist with:
- Arthritis
- Migraine
- Recovery from surgery
- Auto-immune conditions
- Pain relief
- Trauma
- Personal growth and wellbeing
Predominantly offered through private practice, Reiki is also embraced in some hospitals and medical settings as supportive therapy to traditional medical care.
