Who’s Leading the Way?

SibylSept

First Published Sibyl Magazine September 2018

Life is exciting, I mean it is. It reminds me of metres of yarn of all different textures and colours being knitted together to create an abstract piece of art.

I love that we can have the freedom within our western society to be who we want, and to change it on a whim if we choose. To dye our hair, change our clothing style and even our body shape. God knows many of us are doing that.

I wonder though, with all that aesthetic change does it change the internal workings of who we are? I mean we are the same person, after all, sometimes confident, others times vulnerable. Occasionally free thinking and other times tied up with restrictions and the busyness life can present.

Let me ask, “Do we appreciate the amazing spiritual being we are or do we allow the ego to lead the way and quieten the voice of the soul?” Many of us do just that, so how do we gain a balance, I mean do we want to move from reaction and fear or a place of wholeness and ease. I certainly know what I would choose.

To quieten the thoughts and the ego-self, firstly, we must acknowledge those thoughts and remind ourselves that the ego can be eager fierce and loud in its delivery. The soul, on the other hand, is likened to a monk that sits and watches with much wisdom and a great knowing, but it won’t interfere nor struggle with the loud booming voice of the ego. Mind you. It doesn’t give up. It patiently waits for an opportunity, and when it comes, it surprises with words of wisdom said to a friend, or even, a feeling so strong that it can’t be ignored and guides you in the direction of your path.

Ego is not all bad for it motivates us and moves us to aspire, and it challenges us to be the best we can. The soul, on the other hand, is the fire in the heart that sparks and enriches our desire to do great things with a purpose in this life not only for ourselves but also our world, fuelled by love.

The ego can entangle us in mixed emotion and sway us from seeing the truth. The soul’s voice can move us in a way that seems far too simple, and surprisingly it is.

Can you see through this journey that no wonder we get confused between our head and our heart?

A process my soul’s wisdom shared is to STOP and sit in silence, breathe out allowing all tension to melt away, then raise our attention to just above our head to what I call the higher mind while we have our hands placed lovingly on our heart. It’s through this focus that the head and ego quieten, and we hear the voice and wisdom of our soul and feel the spark of desire and purpose within turn into a flame.

Clarity is a Great Builder of Confidence

Blog Pic

Clarity is a great builder of confidence. How do you feel about that statement? Does it resonate with you? Have you found when you are clear your confidence is never in question? In fact, it may not even be on your radar.

In the past few weeks, I’ve recognised that many of my clients have felt confused, overwhelmed and lacked confidence in their decision making. They expressed feeling anxious, stressed, irritable at times, and generally unhappy.

As we sat together and I listened intently to their story with an open heart. I noticed as each client processed with greater understanding, their body would sit up straighter, shoulders no longer slumped and what seemed difficult, overwhelming and obstructed prior, was now replaced with possibility and options.

Once again, the light shone through as I witnessed their breath drawn deeper into their body. Less in primal flight and fight mode, there was an expression of safety and being heard.

Each day, I’m thankful to be a ‘wayshower’. I’m in awe of my clients and students as they share with courage their most profound pain and desires. You inspire me. You see, I see YOU. I feel your soul and support you to reconnect with the wisdom that is within.

Remember YOU HAVE THE POWER.

Clarity IS a great builder of confidence, and it’s okay to share and have someone else create a sacred space for you to be held and nurtured. You ARE awesome and unique, and I’m privileged and honoured to guide you.

Interestingly, as I sit here writing, I feel exulted as the passion rises for my purpose to restore hope into the hearts of many, and I do this through inspiring people ready for transformation through deep healing, spiritual teachings, psychological insight and of course, the written word. You see, I can relate on many levels because my journey has not always been an easy one, and although heartbreaking at times, and others magical and profound, the benefits empower me to listen and share strategies from a place of knowing.

If you are interested in gaining clarity and building your confidence, then feel comfortable contacting me for an appointment. I work both in my healing sanctuary and through skype and zoom. Remember, energy flows where your attention goes, and I can hold space no matter where you are in the world.

When It’s Time to Do Nothing

TimeToDoNothing

Interesting concept and for some incredibly hard to do.

Are you the type that while sitting and watching a movie or television, or while waiting for an appointment is also answering emails, messaging, checking social media? Or are your thoughts on an expedition to somewhere land?

Have you ever started one thing, stopped part way and began another then tried to remember what you were initially doing?

Have you ever felt the need to rest, but you chose to ignore it?

I have done every one of these, and I’m hoping there are some heads nodding. If not, you may not want to read any further.

Sometimes we are receiving nudges just to do NOTHING!

Stop thinking! Stop doing and take a break!

It’s okay, give it a go what are a few moments, an hour or a day.

I call it for me, getting out of my way. Let’s face it, we all have to deal with challenges, schedules and so on and often our greatest block is ourselves, and especially that opponent within the mind that wants to control.

What’s the best way to clear a block?

Step back, take a breath, ground and become present.

Then, get out of the stories, unplug and reconnect with you. I’m talking about realigning with your innate wisdom for when in alignment everything flows; creativity, happiness, simplicity, clarity, direction, love .. I’m sure you know what I mean because you’ve been there.

So, in this week’s blog, my message is to be aware of the opponent that comes from the head in its words of should’s and the what if’s that polarise and distract.

Allow space, become an empty vessel, you DON’T HAVE to DO ANYTHING just enjoy the moment.

Taking time to do nothing is an investment, and you’d be surprised how the ideas and clarity drift in when you create the space.

You’ll have a renewed energy that is focused and meaningful, with purpose and passion ignited.
