Shine Your Light Beautiful Soul

SibylApril2019

First published in Sibyl Magazine April 2019

Have you ever noticed after it’s rained a rainbow can miraculously appear? After the rain, the air is filled with raindrops. Each raindrop is filled with a prism of light and when kissed by the sun will create a magnificent ray of colour in the form of an arc, and it always makes me smile and fills me with hope. What about you?

Recently during the mercury retrograde, I’d found my emotions challenged. Depths of sorrow filtered their way up through the layers and into the light of day. Initially, they caused sadness then fleshed out a deep hurt followed by a release of tears.

A prism of light shone through those tears for much was revealed to empower me to heal.

It’s an interesting notion when we’re going through our own personal healing crisis. For many, the clouds become darker, and instead of rain and sunshine, there is thunder and lightning that looms its power over us. We may find ourselves limited in our thinking and also difficulty in seeing through the mass that overshadows us. Thus, creating an inner struggle as our energy leeches from us leading to exhaustion.

Through my own personal challenges over the years, I’ve come to understand the importance of allowance and to release and to let my emotion flow in a safe and nurturing environment.  I’ve also welcomed the discovery of release, and I’m excited that we as a collective are evolving as our cells become lighter and brighter as we heal and move into a more enlightened and simpler feeling state.

Emotion is energy in motion, and we can choose to hold onto it tightly with rigidity and stubbornness, or we can just simply let it flow and wash through. Smiling, what’s the worst that could happen?

During those times when you feel overshadowed, I’m here to share my friend it’s in that very moment when you need to shine your inner light brighter then you’ve ever done before. So how do we do this? Let me share how I do this.

Place your hands lovingly over your heart chakra in the middle of your chest as if giving yourself a big hug. Feel the warmth as you connect with your heart centre, the gateway to your soul, and now illuminate your light as if the sun is within and its rays are radiating outwardly.

You are connected to an infinite source of light, let it shine through your physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies as it burns away all that doesn’t serve your highest good and fuels the lighter emotion to support positive outcomes. Then, feel yourself smiling with gratitude and say, “Thank you, thank you, thank you.”

My greatest gift to myself is to shine and radiate my light. My greatest gift to humanity is to share that with the world. My gift to you is this simple process, and I trust it lightens your heart, fills you with love, and opens you to greater possibilities.

Namaste beautiful soul

My Heart Speaks

SibylApril2019InsideStory

First published in Sibyl Magazine April 2019

I often bring myself back to the fact I’m a spiritual being having a human experience. When I consider spirituality, I don’t see it as separate from my physical journey on this earth plane.

In fact, embodying the whole of my mind, body, soul and heart empowers me to experience life in all aspects. For I am the child, teenager, adolescent, adult, woman, mother, sister, friend. I’m also the healer, the nurturer, the seer, the star child, the wise sage and shaman. I AM ALL THAT I AM.. a child of God, connected within a stream of light, born of love, conceived of light and intended to experience all that IS.

Today’s a beautiful warm day here in Australia. The sun is shining, and I’m sitting outside enjoying its warmth. I’ve asked for inspiration and received so much more.

Today, I’ve been greeted by a dragonfly, had a ladybug land on me, enjoyed the hungry chirping of newborn birds in a nest in one of my trees. Had a colourful butterfly fly around while my gorgeous little dog Maggie slept on my lap while we rested for a short time.

These were my inspiration for this article, which I’m delighted and thankful for. Seeing the dragonfly was quite unusual for it generally flies near water. The Dragonfly symbolises change, transformation, adaptability, and self-realisation. This change has its source in mental and emotional maturity and understanding the deeper meaning of life.

It’s been a long, long while since I’ve seen a ladybug and the ladybug is the embodiment of luck, good fortune and prosperity leading one to experience the joys of life and living life to the fullest.

The butterfly is also about transformation, change, joy and colour. Laughing do you see a theme here?

The last time I saw newborn chicks nesting in a tree was when I was a small child, and I can only imagine it meant my hopes and dreams were ready to take flight.

My journey of fifty-eight years on this path has not always been easy. In fact, there have been multiple traumas throughout my life. On reflection, these have served me well in my vocation for I connect from a place of knowing and compassion, and my gentle soul is always intact. I’ve been inspired to share that our past is just that. Don’t let it define you, allow it to shape your experience, for our quest is to embrace love and allow the authentic truth of our soul to emerge.

Throughout my journey, I’ve come to understand it’s the simple things that bring me the greatest of joys, and simplifying my choices brings me peace and happiness. As I listen intently to my heart and walk a path of ‘feeling my way’ rather than ‘thinking my way’, I’ve released so much indecision and tension creating more harmony in my life.

Life is to be lived not accumulated. We have the innate abilities to create and manifest a life well lived. Recently, I found a quote online. Unfortunately, the author is unknown, and I’d love to share it with you.

“Life is like a piano. The white keys represent happiness, and the black keys show sadness. But as you go through life’s journey, remember that black keys make music too.”

In closing, embody all of you, seek within and allow your heart to express and light your path. From experience life in its simplicity will create from one synchronised moment to the other. When we’re present, we will notice the signs and take heart from those gifts, and happiness will be our reward.

Birthing New and Profound Love

SibylMarch2019

First published in Sibyl Magazine March 2019

The energy this year is so much lighter. I felt the shift as 2018 closed, and 2019 opened. It felt like I’d risen from the muddy water into the sunshine. My heart began to sing and my energy and health aligned, and life flowed from one synchronistic moment to another.  Have you felt it?

Being in flow fanned the flame for my passion for writing, speaking and performing, and I stepped up fully onto my path, my destiny. My shadow no longer encroached and shaded my light, for life had more meaning and excitement than ever before.

A balanced life was the key as I honoured my time and who I shared that with.

Life became like a tantalising delicious sweet, and I wanted to explore all of it. A deep longing poked its head out, something hidden for a long time. You see, I longed to be in a loving relationship, and was now ready to invite my partner into my life. We’d met in my dreams many times, and it had been many years since I’d felt a loving man’s arms wrapped around me and felt the strength of his body. I wanted to explore intimacy once again in a loving, respectful relationship.

What had changed for me to allow that longing to emerge? My heart was full of self-love and the actioning of my own healing in the past year had loosened the hold I’d had on my wish for love. My truth had emerged, and I was now being honest with myself. I knew the fear I’d felt in previous relationships was now of the past, and I was a strong and empowered woman with her gentleness intact. My gentle, loving nature was not a weakness as others had tried to tell me and felt the need to protect and control. My compassion was not a weakness as others had sought to manipulate in the past. I was more grounded than ever before, a vital key to the quiet comfort felt by my body. I’m a woman in her late 50’s, and today have begun a new and profound rite of passage, the birthing of deep love.

With that birthing and loving myself unconditionally, I’ve accepted the whole of me. Each scar on my body from the birthing of my first child to the extracting of my womb is a part of my journey. Each wrinkle and line on my face is the embodiment of my emotion. Each freckle, skin discolouration, lump and bump are my uniqueness.

I AM, ALL THAT I AM, and I passionately embrace and accept the whole of me.

Through loving myself with kindness and compassion, I open to attract loving relationships. Life is simpler for there is no longing to look or be like another. For the gift is my unique self.

As women, we deserve true love and happiness. Loving yourself with passion is the key. Setting the intention and with trust and anticipation, creation begins, and the universe participates.

With love,

Touched by An Angel

SibylFeb2019

First published in Sibyl Magazine February 2019

Do you believe in Guardian Angels? Allow me to share a real and personal story, and you can draw your own conclusion.

Let me take you back to when I was eighteen and worked in a Community Health Centre. There were doctors, nurses, a dentist, and psychologist.

The psychologist had commenced a youth program. She ran two groups; 5 to 11-year-olds and 12 to 18. The older group challenged the psychologist, and she had decided to cancel that group.

When I heard about it, I was outraged because I knew they needed something in this small country town, so I brazenly walked up to her and stated exactly that. She initially looked at me with amusement and asked how I qualified for the role. I looked her in the eye and said I was one of them. I knew how difficult life was and how it was hard to be heard, and if anyone was qualified, it was someone with the same life experience. Surprisingly, she agreed.

Everything ran smoothly. I arranged for different speakers to share topics of interest to stimulate twenty teenagers that attended. It supported them with options for now and into their future, and for some from abusive homes, it was a safe place to nest for two hours each week.

This particular night a tall young man similar age to me walked in. He wore a long dark coat, and had thick black wavy hair and his eyes, they were different. They looked into you, and for a moment it made me feel uncomfortable. Was he going to be trouble? He didn’t interact with any of the others, just slumped back in his chair and watched, and every time I looked around, he was watching me.

It was the end of the evening, and everyone had gone, I’d just locked the door. Suddenly, I was grabbed from behind and felt a sharp object at my throat as I was dragged backwards. I’d frozen in fear. Then the young man from earlier stepped out of the shadows in front of me. He didn’t look at me and looked straight over my shoulder at the guy and said, “Let her go.”

His grip tightened, and I felt the knife pierce my skin as a trickle of warm blood spilt. The young man’s gaze didn’t move nor did he seem to take any notice of the knife. He then said in what I can only share was the deepest, loudest booming voice. “Let her go NOW!”

The guy dropped me and ran. My legs went from underneath, and he caught me. Looking into his eyes, I saw such kindness and strength. He walked me to my car. I fumbled clumsily for my keys and dropped them. He picked them up opened the door, and helped me in. He then said in such a gentle voice, “Maria, you must look after yourself.” I heard a noise turned away, looked back and he was gone.

I never saw him again.

The Gift of the Messenger

SibylNov2018

First Published in Sibyl Magazine November 2018

There are events in our life that transpire to open us to deep and soulful healing, and this was one of them.

Within my heart of hearts, I’d wished for that day to come, and it did. I was meeting with someone I’d loved all their life and had been estranged from for some years. We met for only a short hour, but then, all came crashing down, and my heart cracked open leaving a huge crevice.

Initially, the hurt and pain were intense. So much so, in glimpses, I’d felt helpless and without hope. The event wasn’t the cause it was the catalyst that triggered multiple traumas I’d endured and had shelved, which flooded into my consciousness. The overwhelming emotion felt stuck. I could feel the tidal wave within, but I’d gone numb, and in shock, my mind froze, until, I chose consciously to release and allow the healing to begin.

That was a pivotal moment, and enlightening choice for it generated an outpouring of love and gratitude for that person because she was the ONE. The messenger, the gift.

It was time to set myself free, and I gave myself permission to TRULY heal those traumas. Several months later my relationship with that person opened like a lotus with such purity and renewal, and a new beginning was now possible.

Things had changed because I’d changed. Patterns had altered and were still in their adjustment stage. Supportive and loving beliefs had embedded within my consciousness, and the subconscious limiting beliefs and sabotaging habits had been cleared and re-set.

Through a profound awareness, I witnessed consciously my actions, thoughts and movement moment by moment, and day by day. I sensed my healing and the newness forming, but I noticed unconscious patterns and how quickly I reverted to the previous default behaviour. Yes, just like our computer settings we do have subconscious defaults.

In those moments I stopped midstream and felt within, and my realisations came quickly and with acknowledgement and understanding. I didn’t berate myself, in fact, I congratulated myself for the recognition and then felt empowered to choose between the old way of being and the new and more conscious way.

The old way, had me moving through life in survival mode. It was understandable because the innocence of the child was taken so young through physical abuse, manipulation and narcissism. The realisation was that even though, she was an intelligent, compassionate child of the stars she had never felt good enough and worthy, which filtered into her adult life. It undermined her growth and happiness with busyness, doing and should.

The new conscious way, I felt empowered, good enough, and worthy. It motivated me to thrive and to create through love, SELF-LOVE.

Simplicity, gratitude and a soft focus are my way forward. Each movement, I ask, “Is this loving me?” For I now walk with purpose upon this earth with a renewed passion to restore hope into the hearts of many. Including mine.

Awareness, Flow and Nature’s Gift

SibylOctober

First published in Sibyl Magazine October 2018

Something is soothing and healing when immersed in nature.

When I’m by the ocean, I feel invigorated, and especially love it when it’s blowing a gale and icy cold. My body, heart and soul are uplifted and excited when I see and hear the waves crashing against the rocks, and feel the ocean spray on my face. An urge rises, and I want to sing to my heart’s content, and don’t tell anyone, but I’ve been known to sit on a rock and do precisely that. Smiling, and always with open arms, my voice is directed out to the vast ocean, unrestrained and uninhibited, and encouraged by my inner child as a giggle erupts as she opens her eyes wide and smiles at the world with a cheeky grin.

Have you ever felt inspired to release your melody and let your inner child play in nature?

I’d just arrived home after walking Maggie my gorgeous pup along a small creek surrounded by Australian Native trees and dense bush. During my walk I wanted to be present, laughing, it helped with Maggie’s keen interest to sniff the ground and every blade of grass along the way.

It reminded me how I nurture and guide others through meditation. Especially when I take my class outside and teach mindfulness techniques while communing with nature as they breathe and harmonise the gifts that Mother Nature offers. Or, when seated inside, I guide their journey through visualisation and encourage my class to connect to a place of stillness within.

That day, I was in awe of nature’s beauty as I gazed along the creek bed. A tree had died and was now supported by another on the other side. Surprisingly, that picture reminded me of my community and those that care for me, and a comforting warmth spread through my body.  The glistening water in the creek caught my attention, luscious new growth was sprouting, and a vast range of colours tantalised my senses. I felt calm and peaceful and noticed my breath was deep and gentle, and fell in love, and felt nourished by the beautiful landscape.

Maggie became a little restless, so we continued our walk. Soon we met with a woman who carried a professional, sturdy camera in her hand. She was looking up into the tree, so I stopped and said hello. She explained that some kookaburras had nested in the hollow of the tree above and she was keen to capture a photo of the baby kookaburra. We began a conversation about sustainability, different cultures, and then our travels overseas. She’d been to many of the countries I had, and it was a delight to reminisce and share stories.

Later, I realised we had created our own melodic chatter as our energy interconnected and our vibration stretched and expanded into many continents. I wondered, “Was nature now listening intently to us, and did she feel and absorb the inspiration and heartfelt joy of our connection?” I hoped so.

With gratitude.

Magical Blessings in Hawaii

SibylAugust2018Issue

First Published Sibyl Magazine August 2018

Recently in Hawaii, a place filled with mana, the energy of the ancient, an essence felt like a gentle cloud lifting your spirit. We landed in Honolulu and then took a flight to Kauai the smallest island of the Hawaiian group, yet the oldest.

Several hours after we landed Pele the volcano on the Big Island erupted. After a discussion with the local natives, they expressed no surprise nor concern. They understood Pele and had a deeper more profound connection which gave me confidence that all would be well.

On my second morning, I was enjoying breakfast by the ocean with a couple of friends when a native in spirit came to me. We began a conversation, unbeknown to my friends sitting at the table, and he asked if I would do a ceremony on the beach, which I agreed. I have to say that I didn’t know what that would look like but trusted I would know at the time.

That afternoon we went off to peruse the island, and the next morning I went down to the ocean alone and began to walk along the beach. The sun shone with such warmth, the sea breeze gently kissed my skin, and the salt air made me feel alive and happy. The ocean was magical, and then I stumbled across a seal sunning itself looking delightfully peaceful. This was the place!

Feeling a sense of excitement, I took off my sandals and walked into the water up to my ankles, then raised my hands, and as I did the native spirits surrounded me. I unleashed my soul’s voice, a light language I have sung since a small child. Then I heard them as they sang in the same language, a first for me, and my heart burst open with joy. The energy was electrifying yet soothing as we harmonised together, and I soon lost myself in it. For how long I have no idea, but what I can say is I was abruptly woken out of my state by a rush of icy cold water between my legs. OMG. I looked down to see the water was lapping at the top of my thighs. Had I walked in further?

I moved back out of the water and onto the wet sand, feeling a little dazed. Then my feet sunk into the compacted sand covering my ankles. Then, thump, thump thump. A steady beat pounded hard under my feet, the sand around moved with the intensity, tears began to flow for I felt Mother Earth’s heartbeat. I gently closed my eyes feeling one with her, a sacred time, never to be forgotten.

Previously, I’ve been compelled to travel to far and distant places to heal the land, and the people, and be the key to open portals and vortexes. This time was very different for it was a gift and blessing for me. A past life known about yet confirmed in greater detail, which tears still flow in gratitude today.
